1.) WELCOME TO THE CLUB, YOU’RE IN WHETHER YOU WANT TO BE OR NOT.

You might have already felt it.

You might feel it right now.

When you actually WONDER, sincerely, whether life means anything at all.

Albert Camus’ question suddenly makes sense.

If life is meaningless, and everything is arbitrary, and God is dead (Nietszche)…

Is killing ourselves the most logical thing we can do?

What’s the best-case scenario anyway?

during our sentence on this big rock spinning in space?

-Retirement after 30 years at a bureaucratic bullshit job?

-Routine doctor’s appointments?

-Disney Land?

-Hobbies?

Jesus please help us.

But isn’t that all good stuff? It’s good stuff, right?

Of course, nothing wrong with any of that stuff in and of itself…But maybe you might want to…you know:

Find your purpose in life.

For starters.

You know, the work that ONLY YOU CAN DO that doesn’t get replaced by a godless chat bot.

Maybe you could make something of yourself one day. Be a damn hero. Why not try?

Maybe if you’re feeling ambitious, you’d even like to find:

the meaning of existence.

Do you have any answer for that? That question. The big one. Know why you’re here? Any guesses? Take a guess and try to keep a straight face.

All that stuff, those questions, are:

E    x   I   s   T   e   N   T   i   A   L L LL L LL L

baby!

So maybe we could say an Existentialist is someone who tries to solve those problems.

Those life meaning and purpose problems.

That’s what it looks like to me.

Anyhow, welcome to the club. It’s free to join. You’re in whether you want to be or not, sorry.

2.) You have two assignments:

***You don’t have to do the assignments at all, completely up to you.

1.) Your first assignment is to find one thing (just one) that makes you not want to kill yourself…

2.) Your second assignment is to make things better and not worse.

You do these two things, and your life will probably be more meaningful.

Pretty simple.

Help yourself to the cookies on the back table with EXISTENTIAL :) DREAD written on them in black icing. The coffee is just black. Like what happens after you die.

Joking…

We’re dealing with death here, if you don’t laugh you cry.

Take a minute, get your bearings, and then we’d better get to work.

3.) SO WHAT’S THE PROBLEM?

—> THE MEANING CRISIS.

The Meaning Crisis is this modern phenomenon where suddenly we’re all wondering if life is worth living?

This is a fairly recent problem…turns out.

I’m not going to bog you down with the history of it but if you’re interested John Vervaeke has a 50 video lecture series…on The Meaning Crisis O_o (fascinating stuff). You know, in your free time.

But to answer the problem question….Honestly the problem is a bunch of things.

Let’s just use the concept of Sources for now.

We need more direct and vital sources of life and human-ness to relieve the Meaning Crisis.

It’s about Sources.

For example: You can order firewood off of Amazon. That says something incredible and horrible about our society at the same exact time.

i. What’s incredible is:

that we have the technological power to (hypothetically and soon not hypothetically) drone drop firewood off on your front door the hour your order it.

We’re on like two day delivery right now in most places around the US, so it’s not far off…

h. What’s horrific is:

It doesn’t matter at all.

We don’t need fire anymore to heat, eat, and survive, it’s just a f*cking novelty.

FIRE.

We’re already in the future.

What’s next for same day delivery, your new girlfriend?

…oh yeah

How many build-a-girl or build-a-boy or build-a- (insert esoteric mammalian hybrid here) porn is available right now instantly for your vicarious indulgence…

The Source of procreation has been replaced with a flashy aesthetically addictive degrading substituted. People wonder if having kids is even worth it.

Really? The continuation of the species? WORTH IT?

…

Are you pick up up what I’m throwing down?

I’m not even making a moral argument about pornography here I’m just saying that we’re so far from the Sources that the growing consensus is that biological sex doesn’t exist anymore.

Sex is just a…novelty.

Everything is “Decadence” to use Nietszche’s phrase.

We’ve lost something profound…in losing the Sources.

We’ve been hijacked.

We’re already in the matrix. We built it. And if you want to get out, you have to get back to the Sources.
